Our Mission

Guided by the humane ethic, our mission is to promote the principles of the No-Kill philosophy through sheltering/adoption, advocating spay/neuter programs, and humane education. Every animal that comes to our shelter stays with us until they are adopted, unless serious health issues arise. We believe that each animal has unique qualities that someone is looking for in a companion pet and that time dramatically increases the chances of them finding each other. Serving the McMinnville area since 1975, Homeward Bound Pets is a non-profit organization which operates solely from contributions from caring, concerned citizens, fundraising activities, and adoption fees. Donations are tax-deductible.

Adoption Fees

A humane community truly begins with you. Thank you for thinking about the homeless animals at our shelter as you consider adding a new member to your family.

Our adoption fees are:

Adult Cats & Dogs: $75
Kittens: $75
Puppies: $85
Senior Cats & Dogs (7 years and up): $50

There is a 10% discount for senior citizens (65 and over). All our animals of appropriate age are spayed/neutered before going to their new homes. Adoption fees include a free veterinary check up for all animals and a spay/neuter certificate for kittens and puppies not already altered. All animals are current on shots.

Visiting & Adoption Times/Shelter Location

We are open to the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. As our volunteer base grows, we look forward to expanding these hours. We encourage you to visit and spend as much time with your perspective new pet as possible. Many of our animals can also be viewed online at www.Petfinder.com. We are located just east of McMinnville off of Highway 18. Loop Road is about half a mile east of the McMinnville Airport and Evergreen Aviation Museums.

Volunteers Make the Difference

Every animal deserves a caring and safe environment. How can you help? As an all-volunteer organization, our shelter operations depend on having a responsible, committed and caring group of people willing to share their time and talents in a variety of ways. Volunteer applications are available at the shelter during business hours, by email, or by calling 503-472-0341. Volunteer orientations are held on a regular basis and must be attended before on-site activity begins.
