The Hardy Boys Series debuted in 1927 with "The Tower Treasure" and was published by Grosset and Dunlap. Most of the first stories were written by Leslie McFarline. The two brothers solved crimes and found treasure for 58 mysteries for the Stratemeyer syndicate,ending with #58 "Sting of the Scorpion". The Hardy Boys series was taken over in 1979 by Simon and Schuster and are currently published in paperback. Many of the early volumes in the series were updated in the 1960's and were reprinted in the blue spine picturecover.
