China

All of the SP&S patterns of china were open stock patterns.   The parent companies (GN & NP) did not want the SP&S to have a seperate identity in the public mind, so the SP&S was not allowed to have custom china.   This extended to the first order of the Northern Dogwood pattern, which was to have been backmarked.  By the time the china was shipped, the backmark had been cancelled.
