@ Sweet Home
The Bulldogs traveled to Sweet Home
on Friday. They took part in a jamboree that involved the Huskies
of Sweet Home, the Warriors of Lebanon, and the Eagles of Stayton.
In the first varsity quarter the Dawgs took on the host Huskies.
The two teams played to a scoreless tie. After a slow and sluggish
start on offense the Dawgs showed that they are a tough nosed defensive
football squad and kept the Huskies out of the endzone. In the second
varsity quarter the Dawgs took on the Warriors. The Dawgs started
on defense and wasted no time establishing their defense. The Dawgs
intercepted three passes, two of which were returned for touchdowns.
They also caused two fumbles. When the Dawgs took over on offense
they wasted no time scoring. On the second play Micah Herber sped
40 yards on a sweep to score. On their next offensive possesion the
Dawgs put together a drive that culminated in a two yard touchdown run
by Micah Herber.
The Dawgs open their season at home
with the Crusaders from Salem Academy on Friday September 10. Last
year the Dawgs beat the Crusaders 28 - 14 at Salem Academy's home field.
This year the Crusaders will be looking to avenge their loss to the Dawgs.
