Series 1 cards share several features.  First, they are high quality "Photochrom" images made by Curt Teich of Chicago.  They are all clearly marked as being images on the "North Bank Road", and usually carry the photographer's copyright.  These images were generally used in other SP&S advertising, such as public timetables and route guides.
