Dalles, Portland & Astoria Navigation Company

The Dalles, Portland & Astoria Navigation Co. was formed on May, 1, 1890 to compete with the OR&N.  The steamboat company became part of the Columbia River & Northern Railway on May 30, 1902.  The DP&AN boats continued to be operated by the CR&N until both were purchased by the SP&S on March 30, 1908.  The SP&S operated the steamboats until the line was sold to meet the requirements of the Panama Canal Act on April 26, 1915.
