The Spokane, Portland & Seattle Railway used many different brochures, forms and tools over the span of it's existence (1908-1970). Also included here are items from the many subsidiary and predecessor companies (1895-1970). Artifacts shown here are primarily from my personal collection.  Items from other collections will be noted as they are displayed.  While this site will never be complete, it can provide the interested individual with information on some of the items that may be found.  The content of the site will change over time as additional items or collections become available.  All of the pages within this site have been laid out for best viewing when using the full screen.

Some pages have large, or multiple, images.  Please be patient as they load.

In an attempt to bring order out of a large pile of paper, I have sorted out the images by the company to which the item is related.   Accordingly, stock certificates and postcards will be found with each company, rather than collected together.  A brief history of each company is on each of the main pages below.

A&CR A&SC DP&AN GNPSS Nehalem Boom Oregon Electric Oregon Trunk P&S Ruth Realty S&IE SP&S Ry. SP&ST United Railways

Click on a button above to view artifacts related to that specific company.

Abbreviations explained below:

A&CR Astoria & Columbia River Railroad Co.
A&SC Astoria & South Coast Railroad Co.
DP&AN Dalles, Portland & Astoria Navigation Co.
GNPSS Great Northern Pacific Steamship Co.
P&S Portland & Seattle Railway Co.
S&IE Spokane & Inland Empire Railroad Co.
SP&ST Spokane, Portland & Seattle Transportation Co.

Persons interested in the SP&S should visit the homepage for the SP&S Ry. Historical Society for more information about the railroad, as well as a membership application. Members receive 4 glossy print magazines and a photo calendar each year.  It's a real value for only $25.00 annual dues. [End sales pitch]

If you have additional information or items to share here, or wish to comment, email me at: ronaldgp@onlinemac.com.  I am usually looking to add pieces to my collection.  If you have items related to this site to sell, please contact me by email.
